The Things That Go Unseen…
and Unsaid
Most of what shapes an organization, a family, a person is never written down.
This is where I write it down anyway.
Standards that gradually slipped. Decisions that get revisited, over and over again. Things you tolerate because somewhere along the way they just became normal.
None of those are obvious as they are happening.
Those are the patterns I see in my work, conversations, and even my own life. These aren't due to a lack of effort, ambition, or information.
I share what I notice. So you can see what you stopped seeing. And say what you haven't been able to say.
Not tactics. Not frameworks. Not motivation.
To see the unseen and say the unsaid.
I'm Rob Speciale.
For nearly two decades, I led and scaled revenue organizations across technology and financial services. In the process, I retained more than $1B in recurring revenue and added $100M in net new dollars.
That work taught me less about strategy than it did about noticing. Where authority and responsibility don't match. Where the "yes" in the room means something different once everyone's back at their desks. Where the conversation that's needed is the one no one's having.
Today I write about the patterns I observe, from the conversations I'm paid to be in, to my own kitchen. I'm not exempt from it. I catch myself normalizing things too, longer than I'd like.
If you're looking for motivation, tactics, or noise, you won't find much of it here.
If you're looking for the things that went unseen and unsaid, you're in the right place.
