On the Road to…

“How will you help us get there?”

I paused, caught slightly off guard. “Get where, exactly?”

“To where we want to be.”

Another pause. “I’d love to help you get there, but you haven’t defined where there is yet.”

The phone went quiet.

Here’s the thing: before we discuss how we need to understand where we’re going.

Are we headed to Austin or Albany? Very different destinations. Each requires a different strategy, set of resources, and path.

This isn’t a mistake. It’s human nature. We want to skip ahead to the answers. To dive into the tactics and tools.

But often, we’re chasing solutions to questions we haven’t even asked.

Clarity is power.

Before you pack your bags and put gas in the tank, take a moment and ask:

Where am I actually trying to go?
