The Weight People Aren’t Talking About

White scale on a grey tile floor

A scale can only measure some of the weight we carry.

One pattern has kept showing up in conversations over the past couple of weeks:

Health.

Not surprising, given the calendar.

But it has nothing to do with a few extra pounds.

It’s the weight people are carrying on their shoulders.

They’re tired of carrying all the things.

Decisions that never end.

Expectations that keep stacking up.

The pressure of being the one others rely on.

From the outside looking in, nothing is “wrong.”

Work is moving forward.

Everyone else is taken care of.

And yet, their minds are full.

Their goal isn't to do more.

Push harder.

Or notch another achievement.

It’s wanting their mind to feel quieter.

To think clearly again.

To feel confident in the decisions they’re making.

It’s hard to carry all of that silently.

Harder to admit it’s a lot.

Hardest to say it out loud.

If this sounds familiar, know you’re not alone.

And it does get easier.

Once you do something with it.
